The special Annual Commonwealth Dinner took place on the 25th November 2021 at The Commonwealth Club, Helsinki.
Another delightful gathering at The Commonwealth Club saw the launch of B3CF's programme of events for HM the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Year of 2022.
The evening included influential Finnish business and civil society personalities, The Royal Commonwealth Society and international guests. Following a champagne reception, guests were treated to a traditional 3-course meal, Commonwealth wines, excellent piano jazz standards by Rob Dominis and a prize raffle.
A special thank you goes to the guest of honour and after dinner speaker, H E Charles Josob, recently appointed Ambassador of Namibia to Finland. Mr Josob set out the importance of maintaining Commonwealth networks for the growth of his home region: "Great evening, great company. We should definitely have more events like these that promote the interaction between diplomats and business people, seeking out mutually beneficial outcomes".
For the first time in several years, The B3CF Chairman's Award was presented to Mr. Janne Hokkanen of Kokkovuoren Shooting Centre, Tampere, for his efforts in the target shooting sport, in particular the establishment and growth of the Business Shooting Club, which was a shared initiative with B3CF. A pair of official 007 James Bond cocktail glasses were presented to Janne by Garry Parker.
A lovely evening was had by all as we retired to the bar after dinner.
