On 10 September 2020, the British & Commonwealth Chamber of Commerce in Finland, in cooperation with Hard Rock Cafe Helsinki and Harva Marketing, hosted a members breakfast event with the theme ‘Planning and Executing Successful Events’.
The event featured thought-provoking speeches from Tero Ylönen, Business Designer & Chairman of the Board, Harva Marketing, Daniel Arvai, Sales & Marketing Manager, Hard Rock Cafe Helsinki, and Vladislav Dobrokhotov, Executive Director, B3CF. The three speakers held a lively discussion with many questions on the future of event planning with regard to the current situation of the Covid-19 pandemic. When face-to-face encounters are limited or prohibited, there is a need for creative solutions to the unfamiliar problems companies are facing. The era of hybrid events which combine physical and virtual/digital world is about to begin.
The speakers focused on addressing health and safety in event marketing during a pandemic, and the different possibilities of how to hold events in the future, including online and hybrid events, considering the merits and faults of each option. An example of a hybrid event is B3CF Beyond Brexit, a range of events that B3CF is holding in October 2020 to discuss the effects of Brexit on Finnish businesses. Instead of holding one large event, this event will be split into smaller scale events with limited tickets in order to ensure the highest standard of health and safety for our guests.
