Despite the uncooperative weather forcing us indoors, the Annual Garden Party 2023, hosted by the British and Commonwealth Chamber of Commerce in Finland, was nothing short of a resounding success.
The afternoon became a joyful reunion of our esteemed members, partners, and friends. Among those gracing the event was Minister Pertti Salolainen CBE, whose harmonica performance became a remarkable highlight. Accompanied by The Spitfires Band, he delivered a stirring rendition of "When the Saints Go Marching In," which received a well-deserved standing ovation.
A high note in the culinary realm was equally struck. Guests were warmly welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine, setting the stage for the sumptuous New Orleans Jambalaya that followed. The dish received rave reviews in both chicken and vegetable options. Crafter's bar offered a curated selection of gins to keep spirits high.
The event was more than a feast for the senses; it was a prime networking venue. Existing friendships were rejuvenated and new connections established, all against the backdrop of the Commonwealth's 2023 theme, "Forging a Sustainable and Peaceful Common Future."
Special thanks are extended to all who contributed to the event's success, including HE Charles Josob, the Ambassador of Namibia to Finland, who kindly delivered a welcome address.
Furthermore, we gratefully acknowledge the support from Bentley Suomi, who provided an exquisite Flying Spur for the team and guests' transportation, Norex Selected Brands Oy, who provided Crafter's Gin for the event, and J.Cortes for excellent cigars.
While the weather may have shifted our plans, the core spirit of our Annual Garden Parties remained untainted: a strong sense of community, bursts of shared laughter, and the creation of lasting memories. We look forward to welcoming you back at future events, hopefully under sunnier skies.
