A big thank you to everyone who attended the 5th Commonwealth Golf Day on the 2nd of June, 2022. Once again taking place at the brilliant Tapiola Golf, the wet weather and lower-than-usual turnout didn’t faze our participants, who were able to appreciate a more intimate event in addition to the usual golf, sauna, and delicious food provided.
Following a hearty breakfast and briefing, our teams set out to brave the elements armed with Moomin golf sets courtesy of our sponsor Rights & Brands. Once the round of golf had been played, players had the chance to thaw out in the sauna and to address any aches and pains with Nordic Shiatsu Centre kindly providing complimentary shiatsu massages.
After some well needed relaxation, and with the rest of our guests arriving for the latter half of the occasion, the champagne reception kicked off at around 16:00, with Laurent-Perrier, courtesy of Beverage Partners Finland supplying the bubbly as well as the main prize in the form of a magnum bottle.
Dinner was enjoyed in good spirits, followed by the prize ceremony – which saw Tua Backman as the 'Best Female Player', Fredrik Arvén, Jaava Myllyniemi, Sami Harju and Vladislav Dobrokhotov as the ‘Best Team’, Nicolas Von Walzel win ‘Closest to the Pin’, Fredrik Arvén with the ‘Longest Drive’, and Sami Harju awarded with the Commonwealth Trophy.
