In October 2020, the British & Commonwealth Chamber of Commerce in Finland (B3CF) team, in cooperation with EVLI Investment Solutions, travelled to Tampere, Kuopio and Jyväskylä to give seminars on the effects of Brexit on Finnish businesses. The goal of these seminars was to open a discussion with local businesses about the future trading relationship between the UK and Finland, and to explore how we can prepare for this unknown future.
The seminars included insightful presentations by Garry Parker, Chairman and Vladislav Dobrokhotov, Executive Director, B3CF and Johannes Asuja, Managing Director, EVLI Investment Solutions Oy. We also hosted guest speakers in the three locations, who each brought individual business perspectives into the discussion. Tampere: Harri Jaskari, Entrepreneur, Former Finnish MP; Oliver Hussey, Senior Business Advisor, Business Tampere. Kuopio: Giedrius Kalesnykas, CEO, Experimentica Ltd. Jyväskylä: Ari Hiltunen, CEO, Central Finland Chamber of Commerce; David Ahonen, Exports Director, Harvia Group.
The roadshow programme was a great success. More than 50 participants attended the seminars in all three locations. The session in Jyväskylä was live streamed from the restaurant Harmooni. The recording is available at https://youtu.be/XL5ixDJl2_w.
We would like to thank our partners from local chambers of commerce in Tampere, Kuopio, and Jyväskylä, Business Tampere, our guest speakers, all attendees, our sponsor - EVLI Investment Solutions.
