HRH Prince Michael of Kent visit to Finland

Promoting trade and investment between Finland and the UK

At B3CF's invitation, HRH Prince Michael of Kent visited Finland from 25 to 28.09.2017 along with the Genesis Initiative business delegation from the UK, COBCOE and The Royal Commonwealth Society.

Prince Michael undertook the visit as Patron of the Genesis Initiative to promote trade and investment between Finland and the UK, and within the Commonwealth. The delegation attended 12 events organised by B3CF and our partners, members and sponsors including: The Future of Infrastructure, The Genesis Initiative Dinner, Business Breakfast, "Opportunities for Family Firms in the Commonwealth" all at Haikko Manor, Porvoo; a visit to the B3CF Member Company, Claned, Helsinki, B3CF Champions Pitching session at AIRO Island and launch of the first cohort of the B3CF Champions Programme, a visit to Aalto University and Start-Up Sauna; The B3CF Patrons Dinner at Noormarkku, Pori; a visit to the Subcontracting Fair, Alihankinta, in Tampere, The UK-Finland Trade Round Table Discussions at Tampere City Hall, The Anniversary Gala Dinner at the House of Nobility Helsinki, and private visit to the world's famous Zabludowicz Glass Collection, Helsinki.

The visit exceeded all our expectations at B3CF. Prince Michael stated, "The planning and preparation were first class and we used every moment to our advantage. It was rightly a packed and busy programme. Thank you for all you did to make the visit to Finland such a success".

The visit yielded many positive business, networking and policy outcomes and provided an opportunity for different companies, including start-ups, to showcase various products and services, hence improving international visibility and business relations between the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and Finland.
